             abstract = "Remote sensing products applied in aquatic environments represent 
                         the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with the optically 
                         active components along the euphotic zone of the water column. 
                         Understand the light attenuation processes along the water column 
                         can be useful for the construction and improvement of bio-optics 
                         models. In this work we present a study focused on the energy 
                         behavior along the water column with the objective of comparing 
                         relationships between the spatial variation of light availability 
                         with the spatial distribution of the optically active components 
                         concentrations in a region of confluence between the Tibagi and 
                         Paranapanema Rivers, Paran{\'a}, Brazil. The results showed 
                         considerable homogeneity in the characteristics of water bodies, 
                         indicating predominance of dissolved materials. We cannot identify 
                         regions with significant variability in concentrations of optical 
                         active components so, we not be able to infer the validity of the 
                         hypothesis that the spectral range that defines the euphotic zone 
                         limit is variable and dependent on the water composition and 
                         distribution of its optically active components.",
